Business started from Burdwan to Kolkata, Bengali Biscuit 'Biskfarme' is famous all over the country today
The son of a village in Burdwan moved to Calcutta holding the hands of his parents. Then their life struggle started in the heart of this city. Tilottama has been watching such stories ever since. This is how the story of Krishnadas Pal begins. His father also came to Calcutta from the village and started a small business, trading and distribution.
Krishnadas was growing up in a world of meager income. Sometimes delivering milk from house to house, sometimes helping my father in business. At the same time the study continued. He was very good at studying. He crossed the boundaries of the school and entered the courtyard of literature and law. Business did not come to his work world then.At that time teaching and advocacy was his own place. Maybe he would have stayed there, unless Baba Purnachandra had dragged him towards business.Meanwhile, the father's business was divided between the three brothers. Krishnadas got the distribution.
Since then contact with this huge market. Nestl,, Lakmi and Calcutta Chemicals . these three companies had business.
Later, Krishnadas almost single-handedly added companies like Britannia, Dabur and Horlicks to the list. The amount of business and profit increased a lot in one go. Maybe he could have stayed here. But life is uncertain. Surprising all the events in his twists and turns. The journey from Krishnadas to KD shows the picture of that turn. When Samresh Dasgupta, the director of Calcutta Chemicals, died at this time, Krishnadas talked to his wife and bought the shares of the company. But on the opposite side came another opponent, Shaw Wallace. KD was dissatisfied with the incident. And that storm rolled up to the court. KD sold his shares after a series of events. But he got compensation of about 6 crore rupees. And with this money ‘Saaj Food Products Pvt. Ltd.’ was started in rs.2000. The main product of that company is 'Biscuform Biscuits'.
This is how today's bisque farm was born. First Uluberia, then Siliguri — the factory grew. At the same time, the name of Biskfarm grew. And today? The 20-year-old company is the fourth largest bakery business in India. Before that there are Britannia, Parle and ITC. Not just biscuits, but also cookies, cakes and many other things are made here. There is also ‘Just Baked’, where you can sit and talk and eat the food of your choice.
Today, Biskfirm has set foot outside the state. Hundreds of crores of rupees come from business every year. But KD, alias Krishnadas Pal did not forget the soil either. He has applied innovative power in business. His USP is always a variety of new products. But he did not stop there. The time of human hardship has reached them. He is doing everything from Ramakrishna Mission to building roads in his village in Burdwan, bringing electricity. There is still a long way to go. However, he has shown the answer to the question whether a Bengali can do business or not through his own work. Has become an institution in itself.
